The line-up is packed with some of the hottest artists in all genres of electronic dance music including big names such as David Guetta, Hardwell, Skrillex and Dimitri Vegas. It’s a chaotic wonderland of neon lights, confetti showers, face paint and bright pink furry leg-warmers –so head there and lose yourself in the beat.
2) Afro Punk
AfroPunk Festival will take place from August 22-23, 2015 at Commodore Barry Park. This musical event celebrates diversity and was called the “most multicultural festival in the USA” by the New York Times.
Along with the eclectic collection of music you will also find 26 of NYC’s most amazing food trucks, a skate park and a bike show. The stage is always filled with innovative acts and previous performers have included Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, Ninjasonik, Big Freedia and Saul Williams. Come hang out and get your groove on in a diverse, accepting and chilled-out environment.
3) Governor’s Ball
If you love a wide range of music, you will find a sonic smorgasbord at The Governors Ball – this music festival covers multiple genres from rock to pop to folk to hip-hop to electronic to indie. You’re sure to find a band or a DJ that you love, as well as fun activities such as ping pong, photo booths and a silent disco.
